Estudios han demostrado que en pacientes no tratados con Maloclusión clase II hay retrusión mandibular comparados con pacientes que tienen maloclusión clase I
Existen cambios en el periodo de prepubertad y pubertad en pacientes con este tipo de maloclusión.

Maloclusión clase II es un problema clínico en ortopedia dentofacial.
Existen pocos estudios acerca del crecimiento craneofacial y desarmonía de pacientes Clase II no tratados.
La información recolectada es importante en pacientes en fase de crecimiento y en la evaluación de tratamiento
