SOMOS LLAMADOS ¿Cómo sabemos que Dios nos está llamando? Algunas veces la llamada puede ser muy clara: esto es lo que necesita-mos hacer. Otras veces, una llamada puede ser menos obvia, y puede tomar más tiempo discernir esa llamada. Lo que es cierto es que cada uno de nosotros seremos llamados, a horarios diferentes y de diferentes formas, dependiendo de nuestras fortalezas y debilidades. Mientras que los profetas Isaías y Jeremías fueron llamados en visiones espectaculares, la llamada a Eliseo fue de una forma sencilla y en un evento único: el profeta Elías se acercó a él mientras este araba y le echó encima su manto (1 Reyes 19, 19). Eliseo entendió inmediatamente, este fue un signo de que él tenía que seguir a Elías y heredar su manto como profeta. Summer Mission Appeal - July 6 & 7 Catholic Diocese of Obala, Cameroon

The Diocese of Obala, in Cameroon, Central Africa, was established on July 3, 1987. The territory of the Diocese of Obala comprises approximately One Million inhabitants, with about Seventy percent (70%) Catholics. We are blessed with 62 parishes and 3 quasi parishes. We are also blessed with over 130 priests serving at the different sectors of the diocese, including parishes, institutions, and diocesan offices. The Catholic Diocese of Obala, though rich in faith and culture, is challenged and threatened by absolute poverty. Being a young and poor rural diocese, we are still struggling with meeting the basic needs of our people. We are also in a seri-ous lack of several basic facilities and infrastructures necessary for a diocese. Below are some of the most pressing needs of the diocese for which we are making the mission appeal:

Construction of schools and vocational training centers for the poor.. Building of Youth Center, Orphanages and the Cathedral Church. Training and funding of our Seminarians' educations Our rural area mission support, which entails offering material support (such as clothing, food, footwear, etc.) to

people living in the rural part of our diocese. Our ministry of feeding the poor. Our ministry of providing care to the retired priests/religious of our diocese. Our scholarship and vocational training programs for the less-privileged. including indigent children and orphans.

We intend to build more classrooms and workshops, and purchase some more machines and equipment for vari-ous vocational training such as tailoring, automobile mechanic, electrical works and repairs, welding, carpentry work, nylon production, catering school, chemical production (local soaps, detergents, creams, paints etc.), com-puter education, and computer repairs.

For all of the above projects, we are kindly requesting your financial support and assistance to enable us fulfill the pasto-ral responsibilities facing our Diocese.
