Concluding Good Friday How does the Good Friday liturgy end? Or does it? There is no final blessing or recessional, because this is not the end. This is just the second installment of the three-part liturgy called “Triduum.” So the

end is silent, the ministers walk silently back to the sacristy. The people are free to leave, also in silence, or to remain longer in prayer. The conclusion comes with great flourish on the next night at the Easter Vigil, when this three-day liturgical celebra-tion finally concludes with an Easter celebration.

Please Note: The Parish Office will remain closed on Friday, April 3 in observance of Good Friday and Monday, April 6 in observance of Easter Monday.

Dear St. Mark Parishioner: During the past several weeks, Mary and Richard Templeton, proud parents of St. Mark Catholic School alumni, have challenged everyone in our parish to make a donation to the school technology fund in an effort to put iPads into the hands of our students by the end of

this school year. They have committed matching funds of $100,000 for this challenge.

Our community has already made so many generous donations, and with a little over a week left in the challenge, we are pleased to report that we are almost there. But, we still need your help.

As it stands now, we are about $10,000 shy of our goal. We don’t want to leave any matching funds on the table. Can you help push us over the top?

Between now and April 6, please visit www.stmcs.net/templeton-technology-challenge.

Make a donation in any amount (even $25.00), and the Templeton family will match it 100%. For those of you with a company match program, those funds will also be matched 100%. It’s a wonderful way to triple your donation!

Please join the challenge and help put the latest technology into the hands of St. Mark students. Your support of our parish school is deeply appreciated.

Patricia Opon Principal

St. Mark Catholic School is a qualified 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

Many Thanks to all who contributed to the Our Faith, Our Future Capital Campaign!

We want to express our gratitude to all the parishioners

who donated to the Our Faith, Our Future Capital Cam-

paign. It is because of your generosity that we are proud

to announce that $300,000 was paid to the principle of

our debt. One-third of our debt has been paid off and

we expect another $600,000 over the next three years.

This will completely eliminate our debt! We want to

thank all of you who are fulfilling your pledges and

encourage anyone who had reservations to make a

pledge by calling the Parish Office.

Lent Calendar

Calendario

Cuaresmal

The Church encourages us to make confession a regular part of our spiritual life, especially during Lent, as we reflect on our baptism and repentance. Bishop Kevin J. Farrell is helping to make this experience possible by arranging for a Lenten initiative called The Light Is ON For You. On April 1st, all parishes in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas will have their "lights on" for confession and quiet prayer so that Catholics can come to to this incredible source of God’s grace, mercy and healing.

"Don't be afraid of Confession. When you go into a confessional, you have so many emotions, including shame. But afterwards you feel free, great, beautiful and forgiven ... Each one of you should ask yourselves: When was the last time I went to Confession? If a lot of time has passed, then don't let another day go by. Go forward." - Pope Francis, February 19, 2014
