The crisis provoked by the very serious and false German accusation about
Almeriense cucumbers as the cause of the E Coli epidemic that country
suffered, was a revealing example of the risks generated by a politically
hasty and scientifically inconsistent attitude.
But at the same time, the irresponsibility of the woman responsible for
Health in Hamburg served to demonstrate that Almería is the world leader
in food guarantees. A few hours – only a few hours – were enough for the
European authorities to know exactly, not only the origin of the wrongly
accused deliveries, but also the exact place where the plant from which
had come the questioned product had been grown, and that the subsequent
laboratory analysis showed the groundlessness of the accusation and the
excellent quality of the
product.
In a society in which
food health is a matter for
scrupulous care, Almería
has shown the world for
reasons as verifiable as in-
disputable that no-one
can doubt the quality and
guarantees of our pro-
ducts.

side to a sector which is

quality, and the social and
labour integration of the

in and which make up the
agriculture sector’s pro-
ductive process.

Vamos a hablar

productos frescos y a conservas y zumos.
cional)
Andalucía is the market garden of Europe
Fruitlogística is a compulsory annual date for theDepartment, but this year is special....Exactly. Fruitlogística is the most important fruit and ve-
getable fair at European level, and has always been a must
for us. But this year our presence there is especially impor-
tant. The so-called ‘E.coli Crisis’has marked a before and
an after for this sector.
What message would you like to get across there? To start with we want to strengthen the excellent image
which we have always boasted in the European markets
and which unfortunately has almost been trampled in the
dirt…We’re going to talk about the excellence of our fruit
and vegetable products, backed up by an unbeatable control
and traceability system, which in the event of an emergency,
such as the aforementioned E-coli crisis, meant we respon-
ded quickly and reliably when it came to identifying the
products and their origin.
We’re also going to highlight all the efforts we’ve been ma-
king to promote the more rational use of water, a more sus-
tainable agriculture and the advances in the IV and V range
foods.
What do you think still casts doubts on the quality ofAndalusian products?I think it’s more in whose interests it is that it is put in
doubt. Andalucía is the main supplier of fruit and vegetables
at European level, and this translates into being important
competition for many commercial groups which aim for the
same destinations as us. It’s not the first time that Andalucía
has been the victim of unfair practices or biased attacks ai-
med at damaging our image. We have to fight against that
and we can’t let down our guard.
How has Europe treated us following the E-coli? The answer might be surprising, but even better than in
other years. Logically, June and July were disastrous; exports
fell and the production sector suffered a major blow. The
losses were in the millions, and although Brussels later
gave out the appropriate compensation, image among con-
sumers is not gained with money, but with effort.
However, everything we suffered in the summer months
has its reward, and from August onwards, exports to Ger-
many of cucumber, tomato and pepper for example, showed
a notable improvement, with increases of around 11% in
October and November 2011.
What statistics back up the increase experienced inecological production in Andalucía?Over the last five years, we have seen a spectacular increase
in the area used for ecological cultivations of 118%. Hence
these days Andalucía is the leader in Spain for ecological
production, with a total of 879,859 certified hectares and
2,885 livestock operations, which represents more than
53% of the total national land area and 57 % of Spanish
ecological livestock operations.
This quantum leap is noticed especially in the level of in-
dustrialization: over the last three years, the number of
ecological industries has increased by 75%, to a total of 759
active industrialists. Within these, the handing of fruit and
vegetables is one of the ecological industrial activities which
has grown the most. The fruit and vegetable sector is also
one which leads the number of ecological companies dedi-
cated to the handling and packaging of fresh products and
canned foods and juices.
Apart from ecological agriculture, in what othermeasures is the Department’s backing for sustainabilityevident? One of the main lines of investigation and action in our
agriculture is Integrated Production, a system which consi-

ders the application of models such as the use of auxiliary
insects to combat the main countryside plagues, a technique
known as Biological Fight, a field in which Andalucía, and
Almería in particular, is a pioneer.
All this has meant that Andalucía, and Almería in particular,
has in recent years played a leading role in a genuine ‘Green
Revolution’. The main slogan and distinguishing mark of
this rational and sustainable agricultural production is
“Green Commitment”, with generic campaigns about the
benefits of integrated production, which in the case of Al-
mería province is more focused on the biological control of
plagues. Currently, Andalucía’s leadership in ecological pro-
duction is evident in the spectacular development expe-
rienced in the surface area over the last eight years, which
has multiplied by five, going from 81,000 hectares in 2003
to more than 400,000 hectares under this system (63% of
the total national area).
vember 2011.
Welche Daten beglaubigen geschehenes Wachstumder ökologischen Produktion in Andalusien?
So führt Almeria heutzutage Spanien,
Landwirtschaft Spaniens entspricht, an.
Führungsrolle Andalusiens in integrierter Produktion, In ei-

rruño a producir.

If anyone knows every step of the way that took Almeria from misery to
development, from the 19th to the 21st century, it is Juan del Águila
Molina, the lawyer born in 1930 in La Cañada who made his work as a
driving force for agrarian cooperativism a vocation and the development
of the cooperative structure Caja Rural –later Cajamar— a militancy.
He has the look of an intelligent man, the appearance of an honourable
man and the smile of a good man. His will has made him educated, life
has made him prudent and time has made him wise. To talk about the
grape and its crisis he can turn to Saint Just, to talk about present-day
Spain reflect on Napoleon, to talk about agriculture evoke any poet and
to talk about a bank quote Aristotle
He was always courageous with himself and his environ-ment. On the
two occasions when pretending had become the inexcusable behavioural
norm of Spanish society—during the technocratism of the late 60s and
the vaingloriousness of a few years ago— he impelled prudence, and
with it seriousness
With the string of famers who, plot by plot, were linked only through
him, he knew he made the main caja rural of Spain and from it a serious,
sound and solvent bank that treads with a more than firm step. Two
stages of the same process in which he always applied the same logic:
distinguish voices from
echoes.
An episode of his life
that defines him as a per-
son so per-fectly as well
as explaining the success
of the entity he created
and impelled (Cajamar)
and the results of the so
called eco-nomic miracle
of the Almerian land: a
farmer recently arrived
from the Alpujarra who
had bought a piece of
land with a loan of
100,000 pesetas, shortly
after asked him for ano-
ther loan of 100,000 pe-
setas to start producing
on his piece of land. Juan
del Águila asked him
what guarantee he could
present, the farmer ca-
lled his wife who was
waiting for him outside.
“These”, he said, as hus-
band and wife showed
him their hands. He
granted them the loan.
Years later, while he
told me this in front of a
camera, Juan del Águila
started to cry.

“From campaign to campaign, greater and better product control”
What exactly is your role on the producthandling line?Product controller. The head of the line organizes
the work, the women handle the product, and
we the controllers ensure it is perfect when it
gets to the pallet truck.
Has the concept of your work changedmuch over these years? The work has always been much the same, but
what has changed a lot is the increase is product
control and quality. Every day there are more
checks. From campaign to campaign, product
control is greater and better. This is a lot of em-
phasis on this.
What kind of control do you carry out? There is a final control, which is what I do, and a
permanent control from the point of entry up to
the end of the line, with the placing on pallets
and labelling. There is complete control, in the

handling by the women, at the machine entry, in the washing,
in the classification by calibre. Everything goes by calibre, and
the labelling goes from inferior to superior for the type of pac-
kaging or corresponding pallet.
There is a rigorous control at the final point of the product, of
the corner protectors, of the straps, of everything. And throug-
hout the product quality line, that it is healthy, in good condi-
tion, good colour, everything. The work regulations we have
are now very rigorous.

For me, the current situation in Almería, as inmany other places in Spain, is awful. I believetransport needs a restructuring and a series of as-

sistance from the administration to be able to continue in the
market since, as we know, is it one of the priority sectors for
any country, and in Spain it is not treated as such. As I said, we
comply with every regulation they demand of us, and even
some more, but in exchange they give us little or no help.
lauteren Wettbewerb.
anderen Orten Spaniens katastrophal.

Agromurgi
conquistó Perpiñán, primero; París, después;
más tarde Inglaterra, y a continuación Alema-
nia.

Juan Antonio Petit arrived in Almería from Valencia at the beginning of the 1950s
and stayed here. He understood with his eminent mind that Almería was a special
place. This man from the Levante was a prophet in what was not then his home
and where now he has his whole life. Petit saw the capacity which would go on to
develop Almería: the miracle of the greenhouses.
Petit had faith in the farmers who put up the first greenhouses at the end of
the 1960s. And so he planted his seed in Almería. A man of breeding, an enterpri-
sing spirit and father of what would come later: the co-operatives. Unions of com-
panies formed by the producers themselves, who understood that they, as the
growers on the land, have the legitimate right to sell their product. And of being
the masters of it. Petit fed the determination of those early enterprising people.
The Agriculture Ministry of the times created Mercoalmería in 1973. A business
model to be followed, which would have Petit at its head. Almería sold to the rest
of Spain, but Petit knew there was more. His untiring ability to see what others
didn’t imagine led him to leave the company when Mercoalmería’s top brass
didn’t want to take the leap
to exporting. Petit, protec-
ted by a group of farmers
with the same interests and
with the certainty that
there were consumers be-
yond the Pyrenees, created
a new company in 1984,
Agromurgi, located in El
Ejido. Golden era of the gre-
enhouses. Agromurgi con-
quered Perpignan first, Paris
after, later England, and
then Germany.
In those years the busi-
ness association which
would cover the cooperati-
ves, Coexphal, was also born,
not without a lot of effort,
he recognizes. Petit was its
first president for more than
a decade. Also born was the

riense countryside on the

ersten Landwirte
Mercoalmeria, 1973.
Petit , in Be-
men, Agromurgi in El Ejido. Goldenes Zeitalter der Treibhäuser. Agromurgi eroberte Perpignan,
zuerst; Paris, danach; etwas später England, und darauf Deutschland. .

consumidores.
Integrated production in AndalusiaThe Junta de Andalusia´s interest in sustainability
for agrarian, livestock and fishery activities is expressed
in various lines of action whose development coincides
INF
OR
ME
with the setting up of production techniques that,
with complete respect for the environment, guarantee
the profitability and future of operations.
One of the most representative advances of agriculture
in this way is, without doubt, the application of
models like biological pest control, a field in which
Andalusia is a worldwide pioneer.
The leadership of Andalusia in this type of production
is presently expressed in more than 400,000 hectares
- 63% of the total national area- and in the positive
evolution of this parameter, which has multiplied by
five over the last eight years, going from 81,000
hectares in 2003 to the current number.
In the field of horticultural products, the incorporation
of biological pest control in greenhouse cultivation
has meant a great achievement for the Andalusian
land by offering security to producers and consumers.
The Junta has designated 25.7 million to its imple-
mentation which have made possible that nature and
farmers collaborate in the protection of crops by using
beneficial insects that substitute phytosanitaries.
In particular, in its last term of office 22 million
Euros have been invested in obtaining those insects
that fight against pests and that have consolidated
themselves as an efficient and viable alternative to
chemical products. Almeria, worldwide leader in the
application of these techniques, has been the main
setting of this “Green Revolution” which has increased
the number of hectares using biological control from
250 in 2005 to more than 20,000 at present.
GREEN COMMITMENTIntegrated production in Andalusia has its own “image”:
Green Commitment. With its creation in 2007, the
Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery started a generic
campaign aimed at making the advantages of this
productive system known which, in the case of the
province of Almeria, materialised into a specific pro-
motional line associated to biological pest control.
wirtschaftung garantieren.
Especial Fruit Attraction 2

abandon her studies because, the eldest of four children, the high interest rates on
credits at the beginning of the seventies made studying a luxury for farmers’ chil-
dren. A committed, active, modern woman, she has retaken those studies, and
talks with pride about how she manages with information technology, which still
amazes her parents, but which now she has a good command of, to the point of
thinking of using it more: she believes that farmers who work as she does, or that
is, how her parents and her
grandparents worked,
should “put a short film on
the internet”, so the consu-
mer can see how the land is
worked and even to encou-
rage them to visit, to see
first-hand how, for example,
the best tomato in the world
is produced.
“A jewel which should ne-
ver be lost”, she calls this
“ribbed tomato, or the tra-
ditional raf”, regretting that
it’s not within everyone’s re-
ach: from the euro ninety for
which the farmer sells it to
the six or seven euros which
the consumer pays for it
there is too great a diffe-
rence, and she regrets that
due to so much interme-
diate charge, more people
can’t try it.

The identity of the origin

“Concentrating purchasing ensu-res savings and also quality”
What does the concentration of purchasingguarantee the farmer? It guarantees them direct access to the market,
without the need for intermediaries, which en-
sures savings. The fact that so many coopera-
tives, some in and by themselves with a large
volume of business, are grouped together to
purchase means we can reach the biggest com-
panies in the world directly and negotiate pri-
ces for our supplies with them.
And it doesn’t only mean savings, but also gre-
ater quality guarantees. With greater, better
buying volume, with better conditions, you get
to those who offer more innovative, tender,
less pollutant products.
In what provinces does SUCA now havea presence? The head office is in Almería, where we were
born 28 years ago now. We have a second office
in Granada and facilities in Huelva, inaugura-

ted hardly a year ago. With our network of lorries we serve
Málaga and Córdoba from them. In addition, we have con-
tacts with cooperatives in Cádiz, Sevilla and Jaén.
At the current time we are the biggest purchasing coopera-
tive in Andalucía, and one of the biggest in Spain. Now we
take to the farmer how much they need, from the seeds or
fertilizers to washing machines or sheets if they have to
provide services for temporary workers, as happens a lot in
Huelva, for example.
Notwendigkeit von Zwischenhändlern, was wiederum Ers-
parnis garantiert.
oft in Huelva geschieht.

propia comunidad, pudiendo destinarse el so-

guno.
“We have achieved optimumwater management”
How do you manage such a vital elementas water? In recent years we have made important inves-
tments in order to improve the use of water re-
sources, and today we consume 24 per cent less
water, despite the growth in the number of hec-
tares. This is achieved thanks to more than 80
per cent of irrigators consuming on demand, that
is to say, that they have meters at the bottom of
the land with allows us to invoice for actual con-
sumption. Drip irrigation or the introduction of
hydroponic crops leaves the remainder for opti-
mum water management.
Now the challenge is energy consumption We have underway a very good project which
consists of making the most of the uneven levels
Especial Fruit Attraction 2
of water we receive in the Benínar reservoir to generate energy.
After studying the possible applications, we decided to install
an exploitation system with the formula of a mini-hydraulic
station which takes advantage of the force of that water fall,
of around 130 metres, to generate electricity. That electricity
is basically used for the consumption of the community itself,
the surplus being sold to the electricity grid. It’s interesting
the fact that getting these investments going has been possi-
ble thanks to the arrival of the Benínar water, which produces
a substantial saving in the Sol y Arena irrigation community’s
energy costs, and so the irrigator has no additional cost.
wachsender Hektaranzahl. Dies klappt dadurch das 80 Pro-
zent der Verbraucher nach Nachfrage verbrauchen, was be-

More than 50 years ago he worked from sunrise to sunset putting up terracing
walls in the Alhama mountains, while at night he studied accountancy. The normal
thing would have been to have carried on like this, working the land and harvesting
tough skinned grapes all the days of his life, like his ancestors. But he was
determined it wouldn’t be so.
At seven years old, his parents had already started to give him jobs and José
Antonio Picón hopped, as apprentice, from trade to trade. In the morning he went
to Mr Manuel el de Cándido’s school and in the afternoon he started in a bicycle
workshop, then a textile shop and in a carpenter’s workshop. He still had breath to
help his father in the fields, frightening off birds so they wouldn’t eat the wheat.
He remembers with emotion in his eyes how happy he was when he did the
entrance exam for the Almería Institute, which was in the School of Arts and
Trades, and the Alsina conductor brought to his village the note which said
suitable. From that point he started to see how important work is in life.
After working in the fruit buying business for Murcian exporters, he was
introduced to the banking sector, first as a representative for the Banco de Bilbao,
and then for the Banco de Andalucía.
He went on to take part in the first democratic municipal elections and was re-
elected Mayor with the In-
dependent Group of Alhama
de Almería. After a number
of years in politics he was
offered the post of director
of the Banco de Andalucía
in El Ejido at the beginning
of 1981. Picón made some
investments which would
change his life. He went
into Plastimer because he
saw that the consumption
of plastic covers was increa-
sing. The second investment
was in Mercoalmería, an ex-
port company, and later Ha-
zera España, which was de-
dicated to the investigation
of seeds from Holland and
Israel.
He presided over the
Chamber of Commerce for
three years and promoted a
number of projects, such as
the Aguadulce Exhibition
and Congress Palace. Picón
insists he tries to not disas-
sociate himself from his ho-
metown. He always says: “I
go to Alhama to all the fu-
nerals I can, I visit the sick
and I drink wine with my
village friends. If any resi-
dent needs me they know
they can count on me.”
A man of action
koppeln will.

After the German authorities pointed to Anda-
lusian fruit and vegetable products as the
causes of the E.coli intoxications in Germany
on 26th May, the Agriculture and Fisheries
Department mobilized the entire Andalusian
Government to defend the quality of Andalusian
products against the serious mistake made by
Germany.
In only 24 hours, the Junta de Andalucía lo-
cated the batches of supposedly affected pro-
ducts thanks to the proper functioning of the
traceability system for our region’s products,
which has showed its great reliability and use
in cases of health alerts such as this. The
relevant analyses were immediately carried
out, which showed our products were free of
any infection.
The regional Agriculture and Fisheries Mi-
nister, Clara Aguilera, publicly condemned the
illegality of the market closures, declared without
the backing of the European Commission, and
led the fight in defence of Andalucian products,
visiting an Almerian greenhouse and tasting
the same cucumbers which had been pointed
to as the cause of the infectious break out.
At the same time, the backing of the Andalu-
sian Government for the fruit and vegetable
sector was there from the start with the setting
up of a commission to assess the financial losses
and the parallel launch of a promotional campaign
aimed at regaining consumer confidence.
Thanks to the Andalusian growers’ rapid res-
ponse when it came to certifying and presenting
the applications for assistance, the Administration
could rapidly and effectively put in motion the
necessary mechanisms to deal with this crisis.
The Agriculture Department, responsible for
processing the compensations, started to ad-
minister the authorizations for payments at the
end of July to finish the process on 14th October.
That is, complying with the time period esta-
blished by Brussels for carrying out these tasks
and guaranteeing the payment of all the com-
pensations, the applications for which were re-
ceived in line with community regulations,
which amounted to a total of 33 million euros.

Especial Fruit Logistica 39
Lola Gómez Ferrón, born in Balerma in Almería province, the daughter of farmers
and a farmer herself, she was from a very young age another hand on the family
greenhouse operation. It is another case among the thousands which make up
the thousands of the early times of Almeriense intensive agriculture, that family
model in which, in order to prosper, the workforce was basically made up of each
and every one of the family members.
What makes Lola a singular case is probably the concern, the yearn to acquire
knowledge, and above all else, to take that knowledge beyond the personal or
working sphere to become a powerful tool for the understanding and acceptance
of the peculiarities of a highly technical agricultural sector, but which has achieved
a progressive and growing integration with the environment, and with the high
levels of quality which have become the best of the trays of Almeriense products.
But if that craving for knowledge and to pass that on has been the tool which
has guided her steps over the last decade, the ability to pass that on has been a
key element in the development of her agri-tourism activity, because Lola has
managed to convert the centre of fruit and vegetable production into a genuine
showcase for the new Almeriense model. She knows it inside out and besides
has the skills to make it un-
derstandable for all those
who want to know more
how the fruit and vegeta-
bles which arrive at the ho-
mes of thousands of people
every day are produced.
These skills, knowledge
and experience have toge-
ther made her one of the
best experts on the ‘Almería
model’, and despite a basic
education, today she runs
agro-tourism visits in En-
glish, French and German.
Add to that all kinds of
awards and she is today a
reference at provincial, na-
tional and international le-
vel for a woman’s role in
agriculture, for innovation
applied to the agri-food sec-
tor and for intensive agri-
culture education.
Her great value is her
deep belief in what she
does, her love for the pro-
fession of farmer, and of
knowing how to communi-
cate with passion and ex-
tremely knowledgably her
vital experience in every-
thing which makes Alme-
riense intensive agriculture
different.
The power of argument

y exporta calidad. Y eso, desde luego, se sabe.
“Almeria produces and exports quality”
Is this being an especially difficult cam-paign for commercialisation?Very much so, both in sales and purchases. It
is a reflection of how the country is doing.
What is happening in the sector is not very
different to what is happening in others.
If we look back, we will see that more than
thirty years ago we were selling at the prices
of today, but with costs that have nothing to
do with the current ones. Today the plastic,
the light, the salaries are multiplied by I don´t
know how much. And the prices are the same.
What are the reasons for this?In the first place, competitor countries. The
Maghreb already has many products in Europe,
above all courgette, bean and tomato. The
same goes for South American countries, Turkey
and Israel. This was to be expected: they are
trying to live, just like us. Transport has changed
everything. What was impossible before is now
possible with the new means, taking products
from some places to others without them
losing quality.
You know the sales field perfectly. Is thequality of the Almerian product assimilatedin the international markets?
I think the quality is very good, although we are not
treated too well out there. There have been a lot of lies to
discredit us. It is without doubt one of the best products.
This is why I think we should be able to count on more
help. The sector has tried and is trying hard to do things
right. Almeria produces and exports quality. And that, of
course, is known
“Almeria produziert und Exportiert Qualität”
Ist diese Kampagne besonders schwierig für dieVermarktung?Sehr, im Verkauf sowie im Einkauf. Es ist ein Spiegel der
Aktuellen Lage des Landes. Was in diesem Sektor passiert
nichtwievielfaches multipliziert. Die Kosten sind nicht
dieselben
Welche Motive gibt es dafür?An erster Stelle, Wegen konkurrierender Länder. Der Magh-
reb hat bereits viele Produkte in Europa. Vorwiegend Zuc-
Produkte, ohne jegliche Zweifel.

trips, etc.

mundiales. Nuestro siguiente objetivo es trasladar

“There has never before beenbiological control as in Almería”What is the current situation for the esta-blishment of biological control in Alme-riense agriculture?I believe that it is currently at an excellent level.
Almería has become a world reference. The es-
tablishment of a biological control model like
ours has never been achieved before. The year
2007 marked a before and after in our way of
farming. Today our fruit and vegetables are clean
and safe.
Agrobio, the company which you manage, has been awarded the Andalucía Environ-ment Award. What has that meant for you?The people who make up Agrobio see it as a
grand recognition of the work which for the last
16 years we have been doing.
The biological control practices have had a very
positive effect on the environment, drastically
reducing such important plagues as tomato horn-
worm, white fly, thrips, etc. And as a conse-

quence, the reduction in chemical control applications.
The backing of R&D&I is a symbol of Agrobio’sidentity. From the start, Agrobio has based its development on R&D.
This has allowed us to create our own technology capable of
competing in quality/price in the main world markets. Our
next aim is to transfer our knowledge to other agricultural
sectors, as could be different types of fruit and vegetables.
Was bedeutete ihnen das ?

Excelencia Agroalimentario. Era nuestro único
camino, el que Martínez Vidal llevaba tantos
años señalando.

t is not easy to sense the future, and less so in institutions, like the University,
with hundreds of years of work that get lost in time and create their own history
and life, its own way of doing and being, of reproducing things and itself, hundreds
of years of work that, moreover, has been and is recognised as indispensable for
the progress of the human being in each and every of its facets.
This is why attitudes like that of José Luis Martínez Vidal have a lot of merit,
the professor analytical chemistry who, even from before the creation of the Uni-
versity of Almeria, has had a clear idea of what had to be the inescapable way of
this institution that does not even reach twenty years of existence, that of leaving
the doors of the university wide open to society, to make the research capacity of
the university go hand in hand with the business and professional fabric in a pro-
vince whose boom is almost as young as its university.
Able, intelligent, constant, between idealist and pragmatic, Martínez Vidal can
give a hint of the irony of one who sees everything clearly: “the UAL is an enter-
prising university because it is young. The classic universities, generally speaking,
find it more difficult to
compete”, is what he res-
ponded to a question about
the strength the University
of Almeria is showing in the
field of scientific production
and research transfer.
A real statement of prin-
ciples that defines the last
years of a university that has
had in its current govern-
ment team (the one presi-
ded by Pedro Molina and of
which Martínez Vidal is first
vice-rector) what it most
needed and what the land
on which it is erected most
needed, intellectual scien-
tific and technical backing
for an adventure that some
call revolution and others
miracle, the revolution or
miracle of having converted
a desert into Europe´s ve-
getable garden.
More than forty research
groups of the UAL are de-
dicated to the agro-food
field, it could not have been
any other way in a university
that is part of Agro-Food Ex-
cellence campus. It was our
only way forward, the one
Martínez Vidal had been in-
dicating for so many years.
The forward-looking approach
Erdenbürgers in jeder seiner Facetten.

Agricultura y Pesca y Extenda-Agencia Anda-
One more year, the Junta de Andalucía will
have its own stand at Fruit Logística which in
this twentieth edition will have an area of
more than 900 square metres and will be lo-
cated in hall 18, next to the North entrance
of the Berlin exhibition centre (Germany).
A total of 35 Andalusian institutions, of
which nine from Almeria, will travel to the
German capital from the 8th to the 10th of
February to take advantage of the great busi-
ness opportunities presented by this meeting,
undoubtedly, the benchmark in fruit and ve-
getable fairs. These firms, among which we
can find individual companies as well as asso-
ciations, have counted on the backing from
the Junta de Andalucía in its push for inter-
national cooperation as a way to expand its
markets and, thanks to collaboration from the
ministry of agriculture and fishery and Ex-

fessionals from all over the whole world.
Foreign promotion is, from the point of view
of the Andalusian administration, an obligatory
subject for agro-food companies of the Auto-
nomous Community, that have to take the ex-
cellence of their products beyond the borders
in order to amplify future prospects and obtain
maximum return from their activity. As such,
the collaboration between Agriculture and Ex-
tenda in this field is extremely relevant be-
cause businessmen can take advantage of the
support from these institutions at other events
similar to this German exhibition like Fruit At-
traction or Andalucía Sabor, this last one orga-
nized by the Junta de Andalucía.
Transferal to foreign countries or the orga-
nisation of trade missions with our lands as
destination are two central promotional the-
mes on which the Andalusian Administration
is working to offer the agro-food weave its
unconditional support and to spread the qua-
lities of agro-food and fishery products from
Andalusia.
Especial Fruit Logistica 2
Andalucía in Fruit Logistica
empfehlen.
