President Kuppersmith Invites Members to the 2010 Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO
The 2010 AAO-HNSF Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO will be one you don't want to miss, says President Ronald B. Kuppersmith, MD, MBA, in his letter to members:
More than 9,000 medical experts and professionals from around the world are set to converge September 26-29 on one of America's most historic cities—Boston—for "the world's largest gathering of otolaryngologists."
To help you achieve your personal best, this year will feature numerous instruction courses, over 80 miniseminars, 307 scientific oral presentations, several honorary guest lectures, and nearly 600 scientific poster presentations—all featuring the most relevant information in the field of otolaryngology.
Every aspect of otolaryngology will be covered, including general otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, thyroid/parathyroid, laryngology/bronchoesophagology, otology/neurotology, pediatric otolaryngology, rhinology/allergy, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, health policy, ethics, and practice management.
The popular OTO EXPO will once again feature more than 300 companies with products and services that will help you provide the best patient care possible, and provide you with ample opportunity to network with colleagues and exhibitors.
Other networking opportunities include the First Time Attendees' Reception from 6:00-7:00 pm Saturday, September 25 at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, and the President's Reception taking place from 6:00-7:30 pm Sunday, September 26 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The President's Reception is open to all attendees, including registered guests. Registered international attendees and their guests are invited to the International Reception from 8:00-10:00 pm Tuesday, September 28 at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel.
While Boston's rich historical environment provides the perfect fall getaway, the Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO is once again just what you need to grow in your practice. Be sure to take advantage of reduced registration fees by registering before the advanced discount deadline August 16.
I look forward to seeing you in Boston!
Ronald B. Kuppersmith, MD, MBAAAO-HNSF President
Guest Countries
President Kuppersmith has chosen to honor four guest countries— Argentina, Italy, South Korea, and Turkey. Otolaryngologists who reside in these guest countries enjoy a $100 discount on their meeting registration fees.
International Visitor Information
Is this your first annual meeting?
For visitors coming to our Annual Meeting & OTO EXPO for the first time, we have a special get-together on Saturday, September 25, 6:00–7:00 pm, in the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, to provide helpful materials and friendly advice. Stop by for informal refreshments and introductions to our Academy leaders and staff. This is your chance to ask questions, to mingle and network with your colleagues, and to gain tips on how to make the most of your visit to the meeting. Our Membership Booth, conveniently located in our registration area, will also have multilingual staff and volunteers to answer your questions.
Join the Academy
We extend a warm invitation to non-member otolaryngologists to join the Academy. Download an application. As an Academy member, you can enjoy sizable savings on meeting registration, but be sure to apply for membership before you register.
International Reception
Our popular International Reception is a chance to honor the thousands of ENTs who attend our meeting from all over the world. With their badges, all international attendees will receive invitations and tickets to the International Reception in the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel, Tuesday, September 28, 8:00–10:00 pm. We encourage international attendees and their spouses to wear national dress at all social occasions to signal their country’s culture and customs. For those who wear Western business attire, a lapel pin with a national flag or a tie with their society’s logo can help to start conversations.
At this reception, Dr. Kuppersmith and Dr. Randolph will recognize the 2010 International Visiting Scholars and recipients of international travel grants, who are international fellows in U.S. academic programs. Apply for an International Visiting Scholarship of $2,000, or if you wish to sponsor or mentor an International Visiting Scholar, or contact [email protected]. May 1 is the deadline for applications.
Mark your calendar for these additional international events:
Myers International Lecture on Head and Neck Cancer

Humanitarian Open Forum

If you are a practicing otolaryngologist or resident, or interested in joining a medical mission, this is a great chance to meet like-minded humanitarians.
