YES Youth Conference 2011 (A Review)
For the very first time in the history of Sukkur IBA, a 2-day Youth Conference was organized
on 26th
and 27th
November, 2011 by some enlightened students who named it YES (Young
Emerging Stars). Through this platform, some well-known trainers of Pakistan landed in
Sukkur and facilitated around 300 talented students from Sukkur and the surrounding
territory. These trainers were Mrs. Nazia Ramzan (School of Leadership), Mr. Maddi Murtaza
(CEO and Founder of Maddiction Inc.) and OZ Duo / Mr. Zain Goplani and Mr. Osman Rohail
(Associates at School of Leadership). The topics covered by these esteemed trainers were
Social Interventions and action plans,Motivation, Inspiration, Creativity and Innovation
and Self Belief (Discovering your inner-self) & Leadership respectively. Along with that,
YES Conference also brought the experienced alumni of Sukkur IBA to share their
experiences with the young minds. To name a few, we had Mr. Wahid Qazi from Engro
Foods, Mr. Rizwan Siddiqui from Nestle and Mr. Adeel Farooqi from Philip Morris.
It was the first conference of its type in interior Sindh, the main theme of which was
creating awareness of social responsibility and self-awareness in the youth of Sindh. It was
our belief that our youth had the potential to do something for the betterment of the
society and YES Conference provided them the direction and platform which they were
lacking in taking initiatives. Moreover, the conference facilitated youngsters in decision-
making and planning regarding their life, and enhanced their learning capabilities via
motivational sessions. Throughout the conference, the audience remained charged up due
to various activities which were assigned to them to give them practical flavor of the
experiences. The YES Conference was greatly enjoyed by the participants and highly
appreciated by all the higher authorities.

YES Youth Conference 2012
The first spark of YES proved to be successful in achieving the targeted goals. Favorable
feedbacks from the attendees as well as the speakers contributed in uplifting the spirits of
YES team by driving them to organize more such programs and events which can truly
achieve what YES aims to do.
A second spark of YES begins with the conception of an idea dedicated to develop a positive
attitude and mindset of individuals coping with the prevailing negativity surrounding them.
Negativity has corroded the minds of our people by fostering hopelessness and fear of
failure. This attitude needs to be altered and therefore YES organizers joined heads to
design and develop a program which will help individuals to focus on the bright perspective
of the situations they come across.
This time we are coming with two days Youth Conference upon Evolving Traditional
Mindsets by developing positive thinking among individuals. Young individuals andprofessionals need to understand that every obstacle can be dealt with a positive mindset
and hence better results can be achieved. Facing difficulties and coping with failures having
the right attitude can pave a way for them towards achieving their goals successfully.
In addition, we realize the importance of motivation in individuals that prompt them to go
and do something to achieve their goals. After motivation comes the actual initiation of the
process of starting the achievement process.
In order to make this process more effective, a person must have good self- knowledge. This
will make him or her aware about his/her strengths and weaknesses and will assist indeveloping the required attributes.
Alongside these, aims are necessary in leading ones life. Aims define the purpose for which
we live to create a name for our self. Also, a persons personality characteristics play a vital
role in complementing his/her occupational requirements necessary at work or other
activities of life and to have all these driven in the right direction, it is essential to have the
correct knowledge of how to initiate and how to have impact upon.
Keeping all these points in mind and after carefully considering various possibilities, it is
decided to conduct a conference on Evolving Traditional Mindsets and PersonalityDevelopment and in close relation with Emotional Intelligence andCareer Development.
The conference will include a variety of activities on these topics altogether in a way that
will help the participants to learn how personality development and emotional intelligence
can help in their career development. After realizing where they stand with regard to these
points, an individual can be more confident about his/her abilities and in turn this will
improve self-image, which will, in turn, act as a motivating force for a person to aim for
higher goals.
