- The distribution of own journalistic contents through Twitter is the main use they give to this tool in the four studied newsrooms.
- Promotion and interaction are less common uses.
SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES
- Catalan journalists use Twitter in their working routines much
more than Belgium journalists.
- Catalan Media tweet more than Belgium Media: 10 tweets per
hour in front of 2 or 3 tweets per hour, respectively.
LINES OF RESERACH FOR THE FUTURE
- Field research in newsrooms to observe how professionals use social media in their daily work.
- To study how radio and TV journalists, who are more used to immediacy, are adopting and using social media.
- To develop new codes of ethics, style guides and/or social media guides.
- To conduct a research focused on Twitter’s Department for Media and Journalists
