Abstract:
It has investigated the influence of the dyeing process in stainless steels in order to provide insights into themechanisms of information of the compounds responsible for the color and surface protection presented.
Used austenitic stainless steel samples of AISI-304 dimensions 4cm x 4cm and 2cm which were immersed in
sulfuric acid solution? Using a function generator GF232durante PROMAX with times of 15, 30, 45 and 60 min using themethod INCO, to evaluate the degree of coloration. In electrochemical coloration
The results show that the thickness of the layer formed depends on the time of immersion, composition andtemperature of the solution and surface treated. The results show that at a different time and temperature the intensity ofthe coloration vary. The most suitable temperature for performing alternating current electrolysis Was between 70 and 80 C depending on the color that is needed, within a temperature of 60 C at short times (15 and 30 min) the colorobtained is not very intense, so it is necessary to work longer times of about 45 minutes.
The technique conclude that AC is best properties ensures corrosion resistance
