1. Introducción

Se entiende por Movimiento de Tierras al conjunto de actuaciones a

realizarse en un terreno para la ejecución de una obra. Existen dos tipos

fundamentales de movimiento de tierra dentro de la ejecución de una obra:

Terraplenes: son segmentos de carretera cuya conformación requiere el

depósito de materiales provenientes de cortes o préstamos dentro de los

límites de las secciones de diseño que definen el cuerpo de la carretera que

deben cumplir requisitos de estabilidad y resistencia según las

especificaciones del proyecto

Cortes: Es la forma de modificar algún material creando una separación

Todos estos movimientos de tierra se realizan con la maquinaria adecuada y

especificada por las características del proyecto.

En los proyectos, se busca compensación, que el volumen de los cortes sea

igual a los de los terraplenes.

2. Especificaciones Generales

El proyecto se desarrolló sobre el mosaico de Cárdenas y se asumió un

terreno de roca blanda para los cortes para el cual se recomienda una

pendiente de talud de “H: 0.5 V: 1” a “H: 1.2 V: 1”; en este caso utilizamos

“H: 0.75 V: 1”. Para los terraplenes se asumió un terreno de arena o grava de

buena calidad para el cual se recomienda una pendiente de talud de “H: 1.5

V: 1” a “H: 1.8 V: 1”; en este caso utilizamos “H: 1.5 V: 1”.

Se utilizó una altura de talud de 8 metros tanto para corte como para relleno,

además se utilizó un ancho de terraza de 2.50 metros.

5. Conclusión

Podemos resumir que en el movimiento de tierra se implican factores muy

importantes como el tipo de suelo en el que se está trabajando, densidad de

suelo que está relacionada con los factores de compactación y de

esponjamiento para el correcto cálculo de los volúmenes necesarios a la

hora de realizar ya sea un corte o un relleno; tiene que tomarse en cuenta el

volumen que puede acarrear un camión, las distancias, ya sea de acarreo

libre, económico o especial para el cálculo de los costos finales que implican

el movimiento de tierra y excavación.
