Sal (Del lat. sal): Sustanciaordinariamente blanca, cristalina, de
sabor propio bien señalado, muy solubleen agua, crepitante en el fuego y que seemplea para sazonar los alimentos yconservar las carnes muertas. Es el
cloruro sódico; abunda en las aguas delmar y se haya también en masas sólidas
en el seno de la tierra, o disuelta en lagunas y manantiales.
