GENERALLY
Detection and quantitive description of deviations without distroying the usability of inspected specimen.
Tasks of NDT
IN PARTICULAR
• Detection of rough structure defects at the surface of the test specimen and inner defects.
• Sizing of these defects.
• Detection of microstructure characteristics or defects.
APPLICATION of NDT
• During the manufacturing process within general quality assurance processes.
• During in-service inspection, e.g., for lifetime prediction.
