Second Sunday in Ordinary Time | Segundo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

We need you…

We are almost halfway through the first month

of this new year, and while some recover from

the Christmas marathon and others rest during

this Ordinary time, others begin to prepare for

our next liturgical season this year "Lent" that

begins on February 14, Ash Wednesday.

For those of us who work in our church and know how important

it is to organize, arrange and decorate according to the time and

liturgical colors, it is difficult for us to do so without the help of

the community. First of all, I want to thank all those who have

helped and continue to help during the entire liturgical year.

Secondly, I want to invite those who do not belong to a ministry

yet, have talents and want to help us. Call the office and

conversate with me, here in St. Peter’s there is a lot of

unrecognized talent and we need you.

I will wait for your calls for us to talk and, with your help we can

make this our church a more united and dedicated community.

Te necesitamos…

Ya casi estamos a la mitad del primer mes de este nuevo año, y

mientras unos se recuperan de la maratón navideña y otros

descansan durante este tiempo Ordinario, otros nos empezamos

a preparar para nuestro siguiente tiempo litúrgico de este año

“La Cuaresma” que empieza el 14 de Febrero, Miércoles de

Ceniza.

Para los que trabajamos en una iglesia y sabemos lo importante

que es tener que organizar, arreglar y decorar de acuerdo al

tiempo y los colores litúrgicos, se nos hace difícil hacerlo sin la

ayuda de la comunidad. Primero que nada quiero agradecer a

todos los que han ayudado y siguen ayudando durante todo el

año litúrgico y segundo quiero invitar a aquellos que aún no

pertenecen a un ministerio, tienen talentos y quieran ayudar a

que nos llamen a la oficina y conversen conmigo, aquí en San

Pedro hay mucho talento y necesitamos de ustedes.

Espero en sus llamadas para que conversemos y así con su ayuda

hagamos de esta nuestra iglesia una comunidad más unida y

entregada.

In the Gospel today, Jesus asks “What are

you looking for?” Often, we are looking

for happiness in very selfish ways, but we find that

when we look for ways to make others happy, it is

then that we truly become happy.

As you place your gift in the Society of St.

Vincent de Paul poor box, know that you are a

sign of God’s love to those who are suffering,

and you give them reason to believe and to trust.

Second Sunday in Ordinary Time | Segundo Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Baptismal Catechesis

This year we are beginning a new teaching program on baptism.

It is open for anyone who would like to know more about the sacrament of baptism.

It is mandatory for anyone who would be baptizing their child within the next year.

The program begins February 21st and ends on March 21st, once a week.

Parents who are pregnant or who have a child to be baptized MUST attend all five sessions.

For more information, please contact and/or go to the parish office to sign up for this great

program on Baptism.

Catequesis Bautismal

Este año estaremos ofreciendo un nuevo programa en el sacramento del Bautismo. Pueden asistir to-

dos los que quieran aprender mas acerca del sacramento de Bautismo. Es mandatorio para

parejas que estén en embarazo o que tengan niños para bautizar durante este año.

Las clases inician el 21 de Febrero hasta el 21 de Marzo, una vez por semana.

Es mandatorio asistir a todas las cinco clases si va a bautizar este año.
