A- People Watching

Read this journal entry. What is the writerdoing?

Its morning - my favorite time of day in Seattle. The city is waking up

and I am too.

Im sitting in a small coffee shop. Outside, the weather is gloomy. Its

cloudy, but isnt raining. Two people are waiting at the bus stop.

The woman is angry. She is pointing to her watch. Shes complaining

to the man next to her. He isnt listening. Hes reading his newspaper.

A couple is sitting on a bench. Theyre about 25. The woman is

wearing a waitresss uniform. The man is wearing a bus drivers

uniform. They arent talking.

They are just holding hands and smiling at each other. Im sure they

are in love. Another couple is standing near them. Theyre both about

40. They are carrying briefcases and wearing expensive clothes. They

arent talking; they arent holding hands; and they arent smiling.

They are married - Im sure. Are they fighting? Maybe. The woman islooking at the young couple. Perhaps she is thinking about happier

time.

estoy tambin.

Estoy sentado en una pequea cafetera. En el exterior, el clima es sombro. Est
