El Laberinto

El Laberinto: Smbolo del AlmaEntrar a un Laberinto es ingresar a un rito casi tan antiguo como la misma raza humana. El alma se expresa en imgenes, ritmos y metforas y el Laberinto, como imagen arquetpica, es una manifestacin visible de todos ellos. Ha sido usado como va de peregrinacin y como herramienta universal de meditacin por diversas tradiciones espirituales.

Este Laberinto es una rplica reducida del Laberinto de la Catedral de Chartres, construido alrededor del ao 1220 en Francia. Mandala cosmolgico y calendario de base lunar, tiene su fundamento en la geometra sagrada, ese antiguo arte que otorga serenidad y equilibrio a las emociones y la mente.

El crculo es universalmente reconocido como smbolo de totalidad y unidad ; la espiral, de transformacin y crecimiento. El Laberinto de Chartres es un circuito de once vueltas y de una sola va que conduce siempre hacia el centro, sin caminos falsos ni riesgo de perderse, y retorna hacia la salida. El camino hacia adentro facilita la limpieza y aquietamiento de la mente ; el espacio central es un lugar de meditacin y contemplacin para permanecer receptivos a las bendiciones del silencio; el camino hacia afuera, conduce a la integracin de la creatividad y el poder amoroso del alma en el mundo. Si se recorre con la mente y el corazn abiertos, el mandala se convierte en un espejo que responde a las preguntas acerca de quines somos y dnde estamos en nuestra vida. Al compartir la peregrinacin con otros exploradores de la conciencia, nuestra existencia individual se ilumina con el sabor de lo universal y eterno.Este Laberinto participa del World-Wide Labyrinth Project, creado por la Reverenda Canon Dr. Lauren Artress de la Grace Cathedral de San Francisco.

Proceso de construccion del Laberinto de Chartres en Buenos Aires, Argentina

La primera reunin para la construccin del Laberinto fue en el plenilunio de Virgo del '99 , cuyo smbolo es la Virgen, la nica figura femenina en el zodaco. La luna estaba en Piscis, representante del servicio, del amor universal, de la unin con lo trascendente. Era adems el cumpleaos de la Madre Teresa, y en nuestro pas al menos se celebraba el da de la Solidaridad. Dos meses despus, en el plenilunio de Escorpio, lo caminamos juntos por primera vez, totalmente terminado. Salvo ese primer encuentro, nos reunamos slo los fines de semana. Fuimos un grupo, heterogneo en cuanto a sexo y edades, de veinte personas : la mayora mdicos, psiclogos y artistas plsticos, pero tambin haba entre nosotros un ingeniero y una arquitecta que resultaron de gran ayuda para el trazado de la estrella de 13 puntas (el corazn invisible que sustenta el diseo del Laberinto). Quisimos que las jornadas de trabajo fueran, al mismo tiempo, un ntimo viaje de autoconocimiento. Por eso haba momentos de trabajo en silencio, otros de repeticin de mantrams y otros para reflexionar y compartir los aprendizajes que se iban adquiriendo.

Salvo dos personas, todas las dems ya ramos meditadores embarcados en el propio camino espiritual. Nos propusimos seguir exactamente las proporciones, color, ubicacin, etc. del original y por eso fijamos la entrada del Laberinto mirando levemente hacia el noreste porque corresponde a la salida del sol en el solsticio de verano en nuestro hemisferio. Hicimos limpieza y purificaciones del lugar y de cada uno de nosotros al empezar , as como bendiciones de los materiales que bamos a utilizar y agradecimiento por ser un eslabn ms de una cadena sagrada entre los peregrinos que nos antecedieron y los que en el futuro lo haran, el sentimiento de ser Uno con los peregrinos del mundo.

Dadas las dimensiones del dibujo, diseamos herramientas especiales tales como el hipercomps, la superregla y una especie de patineta con una lona gruesa para facilitar el trazado de los crculos. Luego de riqusimas investigaciones plasmamos dos estrellas: la interna, que marca la posicin correcta de los ptalos de la roseta central, y otra mayor, que une el centro con las lunaciones externas Cuando terminamos de dibujarlas, quisimos sacarnos una foto acostados en los brazos de la estrella grande. Estbamos cansados porque era ya el fin de la tarde : los pocos minutos que yacimos en su interior fueron prodigiosos en cuanto a la revitalizacin que sentimos. De all surgi la idea, dado que uno de los "peregrinos constructores" es un mdico psicoterapeuta que trabaja con la mquina Kirlian y su mujer, psicloga brasilea, con el pndulo, de hacer mediciones de lo que pasaba en el corazn de la Estrella. Al domingo siguiente, se hicieron las mediciones (antes de entrar y al salir) y fue muy notoria la diferencia tanto en la alineacin como en el flujo energtico que registraban las fotos kirlian.

El clima fue siempre de mucha alegra. Queramos que toda la atencin estuviera focalizada en el Laberinto y, como no podamos estar todos simultneamente en el trabajo en el piso, bamos rotando en meditaciones de recorrer con el dedo un Laberinto de madera, dibujar cada uno su propio Laberinto en papel o pintarlo los que no se atrevan a dibujarlo. Haba un rol de seva ( palabra snscrita que significa servidor : siervo de lo Sacro, servidor del grupo, servicio a la obra) que era rotativo y la funcin era la de estar en disponibilidad para lo que el grupo necesitara y que la tarea se cumpliera del mejor modo posible. Esto propiciaba el ser conciente del grupo como un cuerpo mayor al que pertenecemos sin perder nuestra identidad personal.

Esto tambin se estimulaba compartiendo las informaciones tericas acerca de los laberintos de meditacin y especialmente acerca de la simbologa e historia del Laberinto de Chartres, libros, videos y experiencias vividas. No haba una persona que detentara el conocimiento sino que era una tarea que se haca entre todos. Como desafo personal, se invit a cada peregrino constructor a tomar un valor espiritual como gua durante las jornadas de construccin y estar al servicio de esa energa. As, el Laberinto de nuestra Fundacin irradia no slo la luz de su propia energa sino tambin la conciencia generada en cada constructor por su esfuerzo en sostener la paciencia, el amor, la fe, la generosidad o la ecuanimidad en su corazn. Fue un hermossimo trabajo y una fecunda semilla sembrada hacia el porvenir.

Walking each of its winding paths, our feelings rise to the surface, and we are able to detach enough to allow them to flow in to the labyrinths receptive energy.The twists and turns of the paths help to bring into balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain, bringing the physical into balance and encouraging brain synchronicity.Each walk is different, but generally follows three very distinct influences that manifest in, processing and releasing inhibiting thought patterns, re-aligning with spirit and awakening to our true potential.We walk in to the labyrinth, our minds slows down and we experience a letting go, a releasing of our problems and stresses of the day. At the centre, the point of illumination, we reconnect with Spirit and, as we make our way out again, we begin to feel renewed and become empowered to make the desired changes in our lives.It is this gift of self-reflection offered by a Labyrinth Walk that encourages us to stretch our horizons, become more aware of our thoughts and practised responses, and allow ourselves an alternative, and often, more healthy course of action. History of the Labyrinth Historia del Laberinto Labyrinths have been known since antiquity. Laberintos han sido conocidos desde la antigedad. In the Spring of this year (1999) I had the opportunity to lead a group of college students on their first labyrinth walk. Early in the conference a friend showed me the "seed pattern" used for drawing a seven-circuit labyrinth.
