    C VS - M HSDesign Concept

    CVS Material Handling System considers reduce manual work and to avoid time-demandingmaterial handling and automatic operation.

    The plant is generally designed for the storage into bins, extraction, weighing, transport andcharging of ferroalloy, additives and fluxes into scrap bucket, into the ladle in tapping position and tothe ladle refining station.

    All plant fuctions, specifically from storage bins up to loading to the final users, are controlledautomatically.

    The dosage is carried out with high accuracy to obtain maximum technical results and, at the sametime, to use additives and fluxes in the best possible way to minimize expenses.

    Suitable interlocks will guarantee the right positioning of the devices.

    Maximum and minimum level gauges in storage bins will warn operators.

    C VS - M HSBelt Conveyors -1

    The normal belt conveyor consists of agroup of a mechanical parts and structurescomprehending the following:

    Drive unit with electric motor, gear box,drive rubbered pulley and a group oftransmission belts to drive the bucket belt.

    Return unit with return pulley and cleaningscraper.

    The normal belt is supported and guidedby a series spaced rollers with adjustablesupport.

    Drive pulley installed on bearings supports and droved by the driving station. It is properlycovered by rhomb groove shaped clutching rubber to avoid sliding between the drive pulleyand the belt during transport.

    Driving station composed by electric motor,transmission belts with relevant pulley and reductiongear directly keyed by wedge on the driving pulleyshaft.

    Return pulley installed on sliding bearing supportson suitable guides and adjusted by threadedtensioning bars which are devoted to tension the beltand to make adjustment to take the belt in the centreof the pulley.

    Return pulley scraper composed of a specialdouble scraper directly linked to the pulley support,scraping the pulley and the belt at the same time inorder to avoid material building up and entering inbetween the belt and the pulley. The adjustment ofcorrect working position is obtained by acting on ascrewed tie rod.

    C VS - M HSBucket (Elevator) Belt Conveyors

    The bucket belt conveyor consists of a group of amechanical parts and structures comprehending thefollowing:

    Drive unit with electric motor, gear box, drive rubberedpulley and a group of transmission belts to drive the bucketbelt.

    Return unit with return pulley and cleaning scraper.

    Lower bend with adjustable pulley and wheels to guide thebucket belt.

    Upper bend with support roller and wheels to guide thebucket belt.

    The buckets belt is composed by a base plied belt with sideboards and cleats to contain and carry up the material. Thebuckets belt is supported and guided by a series spacedrollers with adjustable support.

    C VS - M HSElectromechanical Vibrating Extractors

    The electromechanical vibrating extractors is composed of two main parts:

    Fixed part (static terminal)Vibrating part (vibrating channel).

    The fixed part and the vibrating one are connected together by an elastic junctions (tie ropes)which permit the vibration of the channel. The vibration is caused by the simultaneous action ofthe couple of unbalanced drives.

    The pneumatic DEVIATOR is a distributor with two working positions to convey the material towardsother two users in an alternative mode. The deviation is made by an internal rotating chute

    commanded by a pneumatic cylinder.

    C VS - M HSPneumatic Shell Valve

    The pneumatic SHELL VALVE is a gate to beinstalled at the outlet of a storage hopper, with twopositions (open-closed) to discharge the material.The operation is made by a rotating shell gatecommanded by a pneumatic cylinder.

    The open-closed positions are detectedby adjustable limit switches which haveto be fixed in the right position. Takecare that the limit switches supportsremain fix and stable after installation.

    The pneumatic SDT (Swivelling DischargingTube) is a distributor with two working positionsto convey the material towards other two users inan alternative mode. The operation is made byan inclined rotating chute commanded by apneumatic cylinder.

    C VS - M HSWeighing Hopper

    The weighing hopper is a containerinstalled on a frame with 3 compressioncells, below the battery bins. When filledby the material extracted from thestorage bins, the load cells transmit asignal to a PLC card, which transform theelectric signal (mV, mA) in (kg-weight).

    It is possible to charge HBI up to 30% without continuous feeding, and up to 100%using top feeding.

    Slag control, feeding rate and power input are the key factors in continuous chargingprocedures.

    Continuous feeding of HBI is typically performed to:

    To eliminate one or more buckets from the charge,thereby reducing heat losses and power off time Allow high rates of HBI use. Boost productivity and reduce heat losses bycombining melting and refining.

    Physical requirements forcontinuous feeding of HBI andDRI:

    HBI must be present as singlebriquettes or pieces to preventjamming on conveyor belts andtransfers,

    A maximum briquettedimension that is less than 50%of the minimum hopper opening,

    Low abrasion index to preventexcessive dusting and yieldloss.

    Two operating modes areavailable :- MANUAL mode.

    - AUTOMATIC mode.

    In MANUAL mode its possible todo following operations:

    -The single or compoundmovement of equipments withSupervisor PC and Manual box

    the operating standards asdecided with the customer.
